SUPPLIER CODE OF CONDUCT POLICY INFORMATION

 

At ROMA Provisions LLC (“ROMA”), we believe that we can become the catalyst for change and improve the lives of other individuals by “giving poverty the boot”. We expect that the suppliers who manufacture our products will conduct their business in a manner consistent with our vision, values, and mission of our company. We have provided a Supplier Code of Conduct (this “Code”) to articulate specific minimum standards for those suppliers who manufacture our products.

. The sales manager ROMA works with is Chen Lei. This is an audited supplier where their last audit date was completed by a professional specialist SGS on May 9, 2017. Audit Serial NO: QIP-ASI174471. Chen Lei is very open and transparent and provides the opportunity for ROMA to tour the factory. He provides images and videos, which can be found on the website listed above.

Nanjing Kisstone International Trade Co., Ltd is comprised of three subsidiary factories for manufacturing rubber boots and PVC boots:

    • Langxi Jinfen Shoes Company: Company was founded in 2010 and is located in Langxi City, Anhui Province. Nanjing Kisstone International Trade Co., Ltd started working with them in 2011. There are about 150 workers and 2 mass production lines. Most of their products are for Japaneses markets. Brands this factory produces for includes brands such as MoonStar, Totes, Chooka, and Hatley.
    • Xuzhou Feilong Shoes Company: Company was founded in 1998 and is located in Pizhou City, Jiangsu Province. Nanjing Kisstone International Trade Co., Ltd started working with them in 2017. This factory comprises of approximately 500 workers on 4 mass production lines for rubber boots and one production line for canvas shoes. Most of their products are for Japaneses markets.     • Jinhua Huafeng Shoes Company: Company was founded in 1997 and is located in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. Nanjing Kisstone International Trade Co., Ltd started working with them in 2017. This company is for PVC production. There are approximately 150 workers, 10 PVC injection machines, and 40 sewing machines. Most of their products are Japanese, Korean, European, and USA markets. The factory was originally selected after an initial visit back in Spring of 2010. After traveling to China and visiting several factories, ROMA's CEO, Samuel Bistrian, met Chen Lei. Chen Lei understood the overall mission of ROMA and what ROMA wanted to accomplish in regards to produce rain boots in a humanitarian way. Chen Lei introduced ROMA to the most ethical factories. Samuel visits the factories at least once a year, but Chen Lei routinely visits the factories in order to ensure that the high standards are upheld. 

The natural rubber our factories uses comes from Thailand, Vietnam, and South of China. The factories listed above typically buy the rubber from the rubber wholesale agents in China.

POLICIES AND COMMUNICATION TO SUPPLIERS

ROMA’s vendors and the factories in which the merchandise they sell ROMA is manufactured (collectively, our "vendors") must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to all environmental laws and regulations, and all laws, regulations and internationally adopted restrictions concerning bribery and corruption. 

Minimum Work Age – Child labor is strictly prohibited. Our vendors must not use child labor. The term "child" will be governed by the national law of the country in which the production is being conducted, including laws defining the age for completing compulsory education. 

 

Health and Safety

Our vendors must provide their workers with a safe and healthy workplace and safe working conditions.

 

Voluntary Employment – Suppliers will not use any form of involuntary or forced labor (including, without limitation, prison labor, bonded labor, or indentured labor). 

 

Non-Discrimination – Workers must be employed, retained and compensated based on their ability to perform their jobs, and must not be discriminated against on the basis of gender, race, color, national origin, religious, ethnic or cultural beliefs, age, or any other prohibited basis.

 

Wages and Benefits – Our suppliers must abide with all applicable laws relating to wages and benefits, and must pay the legally prescribed minimum wage or the prevailing industry wage, whichever is higher.

 

Hours and overtime – Our vendors must not require their employees, on a regularly-scheduled basis, to work in excess of 60 hours per week (or fewer hours if prescribed by applicable laws and regulations). All overtime must be voluntary and must be fully compensated in accordance with the requirements of local law, and except in extraordinary circumstances, employees must be entitled to at least one day of rest in every seven-day period.

 

Harassment or Abuse – Our vendors must respect the rights and dignity of their employees. We will not tolerate human rights abuses, including physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse of workers.

 

Freedom of Association – Our vendors must respect the rights of their workers to choose (or choose not) to freely associate and to bargain collectively where such rights are recognized by law.

 

Workplace Health and Safety – Our suppliers must provide their workers with a safe and healthy workplace and safe working conditions. Suppliers shall provide policies, systems, and trainings to promote health and safety and prevent injury. 

 

Positive Work Environment – Employees shall be treated with respect and dignity. They should not be subjected to any form of harassment or abuse, including, without limitation, physical, sexual, verbal or psychological, at the workplace. 

 

Environmental Impact – Suppliers shall comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which they operate. Suppliers should provide proactive leadership and partnership in reducing the environmental impact of the work being done. Our suppliers are strongly encouraged to share our commitment to environmentally friendly business practices such as reusing, reducing and recycling waste.

 

Legal Compliance – Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws and regulations (including anti-corruption laws) where they conduct business. 

 

Code Implementation – Suppliers must post this Code in the workplace in a prominent place where the Code can be viewed easily and in the local language of the workplace. Suppliers shall ensure all subcontractors comply with this Code. Suppliers, subcontractors and their facilities are subject to monitoring and verification of their efforts to comply with this Code. Facilities may be visited on an announced and unannounced basis by both ROMA’s employees and third party auditors. ROMA is committed to work with Suppliers and support them in continued efforts to implement and comply with this Code. 


DUE DILIGENCE

In order to ensure that safe and ethical practices are followed, visits to the factories are conducted on a regular basis to ensure that there is no malpractice taking place, that working conditions are ethical, and no child labor is ever acceptable. These visits are either conducted by ROMA or by Chen Lei.

ROMA has key performance indicators to ensure that safe and ethical practices are followed in addition to providing a quality product. With each season, ROMA closely works with our agent and the factory to improve the quality of our product and to source the most eco-friendly product available. We do routine checks of our packaging, product, and pricing to ensure everyone is satisfied.
